Laser cutting is a very precise, repeatable cutting process. When adapted to a bevel head, a laser can reliably cut accurate beveled parts in a fully automated system.
Laser beveling produces finished parts at relatively low cost, requiring little or no seconary clean-up, and often eliminating a secondary operation. And the accuracy of the laser process and laser cutting machines allows for consistent, accurate part fit up, which is required for automated welding processes.
Laser bevel cutting requires a bevel cutting head be adapted to the laser cutting machine gantry. ESAB's laser bevel head is a modular system using many of the same components for straight cutting. Therefore, a bevel system can easily be adapted onto an existing gantry in the future.

The laser bevel head allows cutting at angles up to 45 degrees. Maximum thickness depends on the angle and the laser power available. The chart below shows maximum plate thickness capability at various power levels and bevel angles.

These reference values are a guideline, they can vary significantly due to material and assist gas quality.
ESAB's exclusive 5 axis laser bevel system will cut highly accurate bevels on a carbon steel and stainless up to 45 degrees, depending on material thickness.
Cuts ferrous and non-ferrous materials up to 45 degrees. Features infinite rotation.
