A variable speed router can be used for cutting of aluminum, plastic, brass, composites, foam, and other soft materials. Router models are available from 3 to 10 HP, depending on application. Routers allow high speed shape cutting with excellent edge quality.
Systems includes:
When compared to plasma cutting operations, the router process has some important advantages:
The router station can be equipped with an optional Accu-Lube system, to provide accurately metered lubrication spray directly at the tool tip.
The router is driven by a variable speed inverter, allowing the rotational speed to be optimized for different material types or router bits. The speed is adjusted through the Vision CNC, where all process parameters can be automated by ESAB’s exclusive Programmable Cutting Parameters. This feature will automatically set cutting speed, router speed, kerf offset, and all process timers.
ESAB routers are built on the Sabre DX or Avenger X series of proven heavy-duty large gantries. These systems allow wide cutting widths and almost unlimited cutting lengths for optimum material utilization. The router process can also be combined with other cutting or marking processes on the same machine, such as plasma or oxy-fuel cutting, plasma marking, ink-jet marking, or pinstamp marking.
ESAB invented plasma in 1955, and we've never stopped developing ways to make plasma cutters better and easier.
